Chapter-2: Community dimension

Tracking issue for section 2.5 Community of the EVERSE Reference Framework.

This section covers community health for research software, including governance structures, contributor engagement, communication channels, community health metrics, and integration with research communities.

A draft has been converted from a working document and added to the repository at source/02-framework/community.md.

Tasks

• Review and resolve overlap with Sustainability dimension (governance models, communication channels, onboarding, project health)
• Review and resolve overlap with Open Source Software dimension (contributor practices, transparency, decision-making, platforms)
• Review and resolve overlap with FAIR dimension (citation and credit, interoperability, reusability)
• Review and resolve overlap with Technical dimension (documentation)

@npch — following up on the May meeting: you offered to share references for the definition of community and for why community matters for software quality. @dgarijo is working on the community dimension indicators and is waiting on these. Can you drop them here when you get a chance?
